CoinRoyale Casino Review

CoinRoyale claims that it’s the original provably fair Bitcoin casino. Seeing as it launched in 2013, that may be true, as we have rarely seen crypto gaming platforms that came into existence before 2014. The site has no gambling license, and nowhere does it mention which company owns or operates it, nor does it reveal any details about its history. It features eight provably fair games, a sportsbook, and a decent welcome package, it is available in four languages, and the staff is active on the Bitcointalk forum.

First Impressions

The casino uses black, grey, and orange as its colors, and it has a low-key design that doesn’t draw the eye or make it explore. It feels retro and dull, featuring some poor font choices. Navigation is easy, as everything is accessible via drop-down menus in the top navigation bar.

Registration should take a minute, as all the site asks of you is to input a username, an email address, and a password. That’s it. You’ll have to verify your email, but you can demo the games and move around the site without doing that.

Once you sign up, if you plan on playing, explore the welcome bonus, and see if you can find any bonus codes outside the one from the registration offer.

Games offered by CoinRoyale

On the subject of CoinRoyale games, the platform offers eight provably fair games. They are Blackjack, Baccarat, Roulette, Dice, Slots, Video Poker, Sic Bo, and European Roulette. Players can verify the randomness of every round result in-game. Though CoinRoyale has a sportsbook, it is crude-looking and not as diverse as what you’ll find elsewhere. It does let you place bets on e-sports and allows specialty wagers.

All the provably fair games feature simple graphics and simple gameplay while sharing the same green backdrop. The slot is a vintage three-row, three-reel game. Video Poker is Jacks or Better, and both roulette variations have the same interface. There’s a how-to-play tab in every game, another for the game rules, and one where you can verify the randomness of each outcome. Some of the games feature annoying effects that go with their retro graphics.

You can play all the games using free credits, so you can test them out before betting with Bitcoin. That’s positive.

Easy Access

No, there is no CoinRoyale mobile app. By the looks of it, we wouldn’t get our hopes up that there will be one soon. You should be able to access the site through any mobile device, and it should work fine. We visited the CoinRoyale mobile version through an Android phone, via Chrome, and the site told us to turn the screen. You cannot view the website vertically. You have to turn your screen so that the website can get access to a widescreen view.

When we first flipped the screen, the platform didn’t look too bad. However, problems emerged once we started to open the games. They do not take up the whole screen, and you have to keep scrolling up and down to play. You cannot zoom out, which means you’ll never have the full virtual table in view. That said, the games worked about as we expected on a mobile device. So, while there are annoyances that came with the mobile version, mobile play is an option.

Deposits & Withdrawals

CoinRoyale is a Bitcoin casino. Meaning, that’s the only accepted crypto on the platform. It suggests that if you are looking to buy some, you head over to the Coin Chapter and find out what’s the top-recommended Bitcoin exchange in your country.

You can deposit by selecting the deposit option for your account drop-down menu, accessible in the top right of the site. The minimum deposit and withdrawal amount are the same, 0.001 BTC, and there are no maximum deposit or withdrawal limits. All deposits should go through after only one network confirmation, which should take about ten minutes.

Withdrawals should happen instantly. However, in some rare cases, for security reasons, some transactions have to go through manual processing, which results in a delay. The casino does this when new players make their first withdrawal, or when someone decides to remove a large sum from their casino account. In such instances, players should get their funds within 24 hours, but this process may take longer.

Due to suspicious activity, CoinRoyale can ask for documentation that confirms a player’s identity. Failure to provide KYC documentation may result in withdrawal delays, confiscation of funds, and account closure.

CoinRoyale Bonuses & Promotions

The site doesn’t have a whole lot going on in terms of CoinRoyale promotions. It welcomes new players with its CoinRoyale welcome offer that consists of a bonus that matches a player’s first deposit 100% up to 1 BTC. That’s its main attraction. Players have to enter the code – WELCOMEBTC in the appropriate field to activate the offer. Once they do, the bonus funds should land in their account immediately. The bonus comes with an x35 wagering requirement and a 30-day limit. Players have to deposit at least 0.0001 BTC to be eligible, and they can only use the funds on casino games. Slots are the only game type that contributes 100% to this wagering requirement, while blackjack and video poker do so with 5%. Other games contribute nothing.

There’s a rebate program. Every Friday, the platform rebates a percentage of your losses from the week prior, up to 0.50 BTC. To be eligible for this offer, you must have bet at least 0.50 BTC and played a minimum of 250 rounds on the platform.

If you refer people to CoinRoyale, you can earn up to 25% of the house edge of all their bets. However, to get to this percentage, you’ll have to bring more than a hundred people to the site. If you bring in only up to nine people, then the pay rate is 5% of the house edge. If you bring in from ten to forty-nine, it’s 10%, and for directing anywhere from fifty to ninety-nine people onto the platform, your pay rate will be 20% of the house edge.

CoinRoyale has a King/Queen of the Hill event active from Monday to Sunday on different games. The player that finishes each daily session with the highest winning % will win 0.01 BTC. To qualify, you have to wager at least 0.1 BTC and play a minimum of 100 rounds.

VIP Program

Is there a CoinRoyale VIP program? Yes. It’s called Royalty. The platform advertises that it rolls out the red carpet treatment for all of its customers, so we assume that it’s not hard to become a member. If you are an active player, with more then a couple of deposits under your belt, you may wind up enjoying royalty privileges inside the program. As far as we understand, the program is invite-only, but we could not verify this, as our emails on the matter went unanswered for hours, and there is no mention of a CoinRoyale VIP club in the FAQ.

The promotions page does say that the perks include exclusive free bets, priority treatment for support inquiries, a live chat option, reload bonuses, and a 10% weekly account credit on casino net losses. The rebate gets credited to a player’s account on Monday, based on the net losses from deposits made during the rebate period (between Monday at midnight PST and Sunday at 11:59 PM PST).

CoinRoyale Customer Support

Well, there is no CoinRoyale live chat, which is always a bummer, as that’s the first line of support for most users. The platform advises you to establish CoinRoyale contact via their support email – support@coinroyale.com. We sent an email containing three test questions. Instantly, we received an automated response that said that there was a support ticket regarding our issues and that someone from the customer service team would respond shortly. The support page says that a reply should come within 24 hours. We waited for four hours and received no response.

You only have one other CoinRoyale support option, which is the site’s FAQ page. It houses nineteen FAQs that are divided into five sections. One section is all about Bitcoin and contains four questions and answers that explain what the crypto is and how to use it, so it is pretty much worthless. The other four sections and fifteen FAQs are nothing to brag about, as some redirect you to check out other pages on the site. Bitcoin also has its dedicated information page here.

All in all, the CoinRoyale support options are a disappointment, and management should look into improving the existing methods of support and adding a live chat for non-VIP members.

Security

CoinRoyale has no gaming license. However, since it’s been around for so long, we can assume that it is reliable enough, as we found no major complaints online. What’s worrisome is that there is no mention of any security measures that the site utilizes in the platform’s terms and conditions. It does say that it keeps your data private and that it will not distribute any identifiable information to third parties. It does consider bitcoin addresses and transaction hashes as public information, so these may appear on the site.

CoinRoyale uses advanced encryption with an ECC key (256 Bits) to protect player data entered on the site, and it encourages players to enable 2FA. The casino claims that it employs industry-leading security practices to keep your funds safe. Nevertheless, it doesn’t go into detail on elaborating these. It just mentions that deposited funds directly go to an offline cold wallet, out of reach of hackers. The platform’s online wallet has enough Bitcoins to process a day’s worth of transactions. The funds get replenished each day, for safety purposes.

If you want to know about the provably fair system that the games use, you can visit a dedicated page that goes into some technical details. There’s a link in the footer – simply provably fair. Click it, and it will take you to the page.

GOSU Conclusion

CoinRoyale is one of the oldest crypto casinos online, and as such, it deserves some respect. It does feature eight provably fair games, which is more than most competitors, but it fails in other areas. It has a sportsbook, but it’s not that good. You can go through the Bitcointalk thread and see that the site staff admits that they have just recently started to take that part of the site more seriously and are looking at upgrading it by adding more betting options. There are few promotions on the site, and customer support leaves a lot to be desired. You can only use Bitcoin here, and the mobile version is a bit funky, so we cannot recommend it. Other than years of experience, the site has little going for it, as it seems like, over the years, competitors have surpassed it. That said, management is trying to mix things up by revamping promotions, adding tournaments, and expanding the sportsbook offer. So, some positive changes may happen soon. We hope.
