Google lifts the ban on Crypto Advertisements
In June 2018, around 3 years ago, following a move by Facebook, Google imposed a ban on crypto advertisements promoting crypto wallets, exchanges, ICOs, signal providing services and anything related to cryptocurrencies. Now after almost three years of silence, we are finally getting some positive news regarding the crypto advertisements as companies can now advertise their brand on google starting from August 2021.
Although ICOs will remain banned for now, wallets and exchanges that comply with the company’s certification process may advertise their brand on Google and YouTube. Products like trading signals and investment advice are going to remain banned from advertising along with the ICOs for the time being.
This move certainly enlightens how the crypto community has matured over years and during a phase when crypto is gasping for legal status, this news opens the doors for better opportunities in the near future.
According to sources, this change has been done “in order to better match existing FinCEN regulations and requirements”, said a spokesperson.
