Action fans of the 1980s and 1990s love John Rambo, the fictional character created by David Morrell but popularized – and we can rightfully say immortalized – by Sylvester Stallone in the five films in which he portrayed him, the first one being First Blood in 1982. Hence, the title of our guide.
For those unfamiliar with this action icon, Rambo is a Vietnam War veteran and former Green Beret, traumatized by his wartime experiences. He is a highly skilled special forces operative, an expert in all things combat. According to his backstory, Rambo is of Navajo heritage, which is why he is so good with a bow, which is often his weapon of choice. Winner of the Congressional Medal of Honor, Rambo has been shown in five movies battling Mexican cartels, Soviet forces, Vietnamese soldiers, Burmese warlords, and even the National Guard.
We doubt there will be any more Rambo films starring Stallone, as the actor is pushing eighty years old, but we are not ruling out the option of a show getting created telling the story of a young Rambo, something that has been rumored for years. If you are yearning for a Rambo high-octane action fix but have watched the movies multiple times, do not fret. The interactive gaming industry has you covered with five licensed Rambo slots. Let’s tell you all about them here.
Rambo by Atlantic Digital
Atlantic Digital is a London-based online slot provider that got up and running in 2021, which had only eleven titles to its name at the time of writing, and many of these were either movie- or TV-show-inspired ones. Aside from making two Rambo games, this company has also released branded Godfather, Star Trek, Cheers, CSI, Charlie’s Angels, and Ace Ventura slots.
Atlantic Digital set loose this Rambo title at the tail end of January 2025 as a medium-variance release with a ranging RTP that can be either 92% or 94.95%, depending on where you play it. Even though this studio paid to use the Rambo name, they obviously could not fork over enough cash to get Stallone’s likeness, as the Rambo in this slot does not look like Sly. The game is based on the first movie in the series, and it has an okay presentation, a max win of x5,000 on a top bet of $50, a 5×4 grid, and twenty paylines. As far as bonus features go, it offers multipliers, respins, mystery symbols, symbol collection, and a free spin round.
Rambo: Mega Mines
This is another Atlantic Digital release, one that got distributed through Light & Wonder almost a month after this supplier’s Rambo title. In all honesty, even though this product has a Rambo theme and visuals inspired by First Blood, it is not really a Rambo game but a straightforward mines one. It lists a max win of x2,000 and is more dynamic than most mine choices, as it has high-paced bonus rounds.
Atlantic Digital calls this a 4×4 instant win game where you select fields that hold hidden mines, cash prizes, explosive jackpots, and the high-stakes Spin Up feature. It is not bad for what it is for fans of Minesweeper-style gameplay.
Rambo by iSoftBet
Moving away from Atlantic Digital, here we have an older iSoftBet release, one that hit the web in 2013 and actually features Stallone. This is a slot based on the fourth edition of the Rambo series, simply titled Rambo. Many fans have complained that the names of these movies do not make sense, as the third one was Rambo III, and the fourth one is called just Rambo. But that is something Stallone has also done with the Rocky franchise, as the sixth part was called Rocky Balboa, yet all others before it had numbers next to their names delineating their order in the series.
Rambo, or Rambo 4, is set in Burma, and Sly is the scatter in this spinner with a unique 3-4-5-4-3 grid setup with seven hundred and twenty betways that pay both ways. The bets here move from $0.5 on the lowest end to $12.5 on the highest, and the max win is x10,000. The RTP of iSoftBet is a high 97.02%, and most of the excitement in this game rests with its bonus mode with an expanding symbol and the chance to land one of its four progressive jackpots.
Rambo by the Skywind Group
We covered First Blood (Rambo 1) and Rambo (Rambo 4), well, here is a game based on First Blood Part 2, or Rambo 2, which is set in Vietnam. This is probably the most mainstream of the Rambo movies, as it is the one that most frequently gets parodied and referenced. The Skywind Group has also not been able to secure the rights to use Stallone’s face in this game, as they have a character that resembles him but not overly so in this high-variance spinner with an RTP of 95.04%.
You get five reels and three rows in this twenty-payline game where bet sizes start at $0.2 and go up to $200 per spin. The max prize in Skywind’s Rambo stands at x1,000, and you get a free spin mode, multipliers, and random wilds in this pick, which delivers some first-person shooter action and has video clips from the film it draws its inspiration from. These feature Stallone.
We must say that the FPS approach gives this slot freshness and makes it feel like something different worth checking out. Sadly, this system gets repetitive quickly.
Rambo by StakeLogic
And we are back to Rambo 4, or just Rambo, but this time, we get to experience StakeLogic’s take on this movie through a medium-high-variance slot with twenty paylines, a max win of x7,125, and a ranging RTP. This game can come in 94.47%, 94.51%, 94.7%, 95.08%, and 96.08% variants.
It has painterly graphics that look Okay and a Rambo that does not look anything like Stallone. Set in the Burmese jungle, you have free spins with multiplier wilds in this slot, expanding TNT wilds with respin nudges, and an optional Super Stake feature.
