MultiFly Slot Review

GOSU GAME REVIEW

It is hard to believe that we have only investigated one Yggdrasil slot. When getting ready to write this review, we got stunned to see that we have only analyzed the Age of Asgard spinner from Yggdrasil and nothing else from this established provider. Founded in 2013, Malta now acts as the home base for this company, while Krakow, Poland, is where its houses its head development office. Note that Yggdrasil also has offices in Gibraltar and Sweden, boasting a library of over one hundred reel-spinners.

Although most famous for its Viking-themed games, MultiFly was this company’s most-played title at the time of writing. That was so despite it not being one of Yggdrasil’s freshest releases. It got released on March 24, 2022, debuting around the 250-position. In the next few weeks, MultiFly experienced an up and down ride, as it dipped below the 1,000 rankings, and on April 12, it shot up to the 78-spot, giving us ample reason to analyze it. Hence, let us check out if MultiFly is worth a spin, or was the game’s previous several weeks dwindling in obscurity well-earned?

Theme & Design

Despite its name, the theme here is not the most renowned insect of the order Diptera. It is a jungle, likely a South American one. Something resembling a cartoony version of the Amazon packed with overgrown vegetation. Since many of the creatures in this game eat flies in real life, we assume the origin of this spinner’s name likely stems from its cast of characters and their association with flies.

The visuals here are rich in color but not overly saturated. They are painterly graphics that give off a soothing vibe. The scene has a decent sense of depth. It features flowers on both sides of the reel grid and lizards on top of the symbol layout.

The buttons’ panel utilized by Yggdrasil here fits the grid design above it, boasting matching gradients and textures. The spin button is in the center bottom of the screen. The auto-spin function is to the right of it. The bet-adjuster is on the left of this middle configuration, and the win/overall balance info is to the right.

We have to note that we were fans of the MultiFly soundtrack, as it reminded us of the 1990s Disney movie The Air Up There and the theme song from the 1992 movie Brain Donors.

The purple circle with a white plus inside it left of the reel grid unravels to reveal the settings option, the mute one, and the icon leading to the info page.

Specs & Gameplay

MultiFly is a high variance reel-spinning game with an RTP of 96.3% and a hit frequency of 17. It utilizes a 5×3 layout, incorporating the 243 ways to win format. Bet sizes here go as low as $0.1 and as high as $75. The max win potential of this slot is x10,514 your bet, listing its prize cap as €788,475. You form winning combinations in this game by landing one or more matching symbols on at least three consecutive reels starting from the leftmost one. If you hit one symbol on every grid reel, that will multiply your reward.

The low-paying tokens of MultiFly are your standard 10-A card royals, paying out wins worth x0.6 to x1.5 for five-of-a-kind. The high-paying ones are a lizard, a frog, a toucan, and a parrot. They yield prizes of x2 to x4 for five-of-a-kind.

The game’s Wild is the word itself, substituting all regular pay symbols and increasing the reel multiplier. The Scatter is a chameleon, only appearing on the central three reels.

Bonus Features

Know that MultiFly essentially utilizes the avalanche/cascading mechanic, which it calls the DropDown feature. In short, when a win happens in this game, the symbols that are a part of the formed reward-generating combination get removed, and new ones get put in their place, giving you a fresh chance to win again. Moreover, MultiFly will also add an extra Wild in this bunch.

The lizards on top of every reel have a multiplier value below them. Whenever a Wild comes into view, randomly on a spin or in the DropDown feature, it activates the Reel Multiplier mode. Each reel has a starting value of x1, which grows by +1 when a multiplier appears on the grid. Via the DropDown mode, multipliers can build over multiple reels and get applied one by one to winning combinations. But only to those reels that have winning tokens. Remember that during the base gameplay, multiplier values reset to x1 following every new reel rotation.

To enter the Free Spins Bonus Round, you will have to land three chameleon Scatters on the middle of the reel grid, which will get you ten on-the-house spins. Multipliers from the base game get carried over to this round. Their values do not reset during the Free Spins Round.
