And The Wildos reel-spinning game from this independent Swedish studio seems like the perfect product to highlight this company and re-introduce it to a section of our reader pool unfamiliar with it.

Theme & Design

We mentioned in our Wild Bandolier review that we are a bit tired of Wild West slots. That still holds. However, The Wildos is not your typical Western spinner. It has heavy cartoon influences, with the characters in it reminding us of Marvin the Martian. As we have mentioned before, there are over four hundred spinners that feature a cowboy theme. This one obviously falls in line with the ones that have caricatured this genre, like Chilli Bandits from Slotmill, Desperate Dawgs by Reflex Gaming, and EvoPlay’s Wild Bullets. There is nothing attempting to convey a sense of realism in this slot. It is balls to the wall cartoony. The visuals here are illustrations with primarily a flat shading style, and the soundtrack is an appropriately Western-like tune, like something out of a 1960s Italian spaghetti Western.

The setting in The Wildos is the super-cliched empty city street. The reels spin in the middle of it, and they get flanked by a bank on the right, and a jail, holding The Wildos on the left. The buttons panel here lies on the bottom of the screen, with the main game functions on its right side and the balance info on the left. In the top right corner is where you will find the mute button and the ones that open the info and settings pages.

Overall, the presentation here is not bad. It is nothing impressive or fresh, but it works. And it has some level of pop. If we have to pick one thing that stands out, we shall highlight the music used.

As the saying goes – to each is own. In our eyes, The Wildos is a cute slot from Thunderkick, but not one that we will probably play many times over. It’s cool and all.
