Temple Tumble Slot Review
We have reviewed more than a few Relax Gaming products on this site, most notably the Money Train series. While in the past, Relax Gaming was best known for their roulette and blackjack RNG table games, today, they are all about reel-spinners. Temple Tumble is their second most popular game, and two years after its release, it still maintains a loyal fan base despite hitting many peaks and valleys. At one point, it was close to entering the top 60 rankings, but it has also fallen as low as the 860-spot. So, things have been up and down with this title. It makes no bones about drawing inspiration from a myriad of previous Aztec-inspired slots. Thus, let us look into how well it stacks up against its competition.
Theme & Design
As mentioned, this is an Aztec-themed reel-spinner. So you can expect to see many of the same motifs utilized by a ton of other titles in this vast sub-genre. Upon first sight, it is quite clear that Temple Tumble borrows a lot from Push Gaming’s Tiki Tumble and NetEnt’s now-legendary slot – Gonzo’s Quest. As per the course for such games, the visuals here also consist of temple ruins and jungle scenery. The reel-grid spins within a monument structure, which is a gateway to the ruins’ secret chamber. That is where the Free Spins Bonus Round takes place. Once you activate this mode, you get treated to an animation that looks like something out of the original Wolfenstein first-person shooter. In the Free Spins Round, the reel-grid spins inside an arch-way structure identical to the one in the base game. However, here, it gets flanked by two statues of mythological beasts, a serpent-like creature on one side and a canine on the other.
Like most Relax Gaming products, Temple Tumble also opens with an intro animation featuring an Indiana Jones wannabe. What is weird about this release is that it blends 3D models and 2D graphics for a clunky visual feel. The game also lacks a soundtrack, as when we played it, we only got treated to a bunch of baleful sound effects.
The dark grey buttons panel is on the bottom of the screen. In its center are the spin and auto-spin buttons. The bet-adjuster is on the left of these, and the settings tab is next to it. On the right side of the panel, you can view your balance and bet info.
Specs & Gameplay
Temple Tumble is a six-reel, six-row slot that features up to 46,656 ways to win. Naturally, this means that it utilizes Big Time Gaming’s Megaways engine and a cascading symbol mechanic. Every time you land a winning combo on this game, the symbols that are a part of it explode and new ones take their place. Unlike most Megaways games, the reels here feature a set number of positions, but they incorporate blocker symbols that get destroyed when you hit an adjacent win. The RTP of this high variance title is 96.25%, and the hit frequency is a decent 24.76. The smallest bet you can place on Temple Tumble is $0.2, and the largest one is $100. The most you stand to win is a prize that is worth x7,767 your stake.
The low-paying symbols in this game are your classic A-J royals. If you land six identical symbols from this batch, you will win a prize that is x0.2 your wager. The next group consists of three different colored gemstones, and they pay x0.3 to x0.6 for a combo of six matching gemstones. The red Aztec mask and the Buddha head sculpture are the highest-paying symbols, and for six of each on a spin, Temple Tumble will pay out a reward of x1 and x0.6, respectively.
The Rich Wilde-like explorer is this game’s Wild, and he substitutes all other symbols to help form winning combos. Note that this game has no Scatter.
Bonus Features
Since Temple Tumble does not incorporate Bonus and Scatter symbols, you gain entry to the Free Spins round here by destroying all stone blocks on the grid. It is a novel twist. You kick things off in this round with six complementary reel rotations, and you get to select one of three bonus modes. The first one is the Extra Spins mode. It features a medium variance and special stone blocks. When you manage to destroy these, they will award you more free spins. The second mode is Extra Spins plus Multipliers, which seems like the best of the bunch. It provides extra reel rotations, and the stones here can also unveil win multipliers. However, note that the variance is high here. The last option is Multipliers-Only. So you get no free spins, but you can get up to an x3 multiplier inside this super-high variance round. It is up to you to decide what option you will select. Though, remember, without multipliers, you cannot come close to reaching this game’s max win potential.
GOSU Verdict
In all honesty, we did not find Temple Tumble very visually engaging or exciting. It is not the most innovative game that you will stumble upon in the interactive gaming space. Yet, it tries something slightly different when it comes to Megaways slots, so it has that going for it, as well as the variance selection in the Free Spins Round. That said, Temple Tumbles` max win of x7,767 is low for a Megaways game, and we have to say that we were just not feeling this one. It is decent, but not much else.

One of my favorite slots in terms of gameplay. Especially the in-game accesses are very successful. In addition to the high potential, the insistence on playing the game can sometimes upset you. You should try this game which has interesting feedback.
