Emperor of India Slot Review

GOSU GAME REVIEW

Red Tiger is what we would call a very established game provider, and we have looked at many of its games. We have not seen its name in the news lately, aside from slot press releases, and the last time we posted any news about it was in January of this year when we reported on BitStarz adding titles from its catalog. It was in that same month we posted our last Red Tiger slot review – Sugarlicious EveryWay.

We thought about the lack of stories connected with this company and decided to check out what it was up to. It surprised us that this studio has maintained a steady release schedule, churning out two games monthly throughout 2024. So, we chose to analyze one of its most recent spinners, Emperor of India. We did so because, honestly, we thought the promo image for it looked cool. It debuted in late June (27th) 2024, doing fairly well in its first week in most developed markets, ranking in the top one hundred most played gambling game standings in Austria, Finland, Ireland, Poland, Sweden, Japan, the Netherlands, Korea, Belgium, and a few other regions. Hence, this gave us even more motivation to scan this product, which we are doing below. Thus, buckle up for our review of Red Tiger’s Emperor of India.

Theme & Design

Okay, so when we sat down to write this piece of content, the first thing we asked ourselves was – India had Emperors. We admit that we are not too historically savvy when it comes to this part of the world, and aside from British colonialism, we were unfamiliar with much of this country’s history. After looking this up, it appears that it had a total of twenty-one who ruled it for over three centuries. Apparently, the land we now know as India has witnessed multiple dynasties – shame on us.

Now, while we may not know every piece of Indian history, what we do know is how many reel-spinning online gambling games India has inspired. That figure is one hundred and seventy-six. Okay, this may not be the precise number it has inspired. But the number of games that feature it. From this collection, we would single out Pearls of India and Idol of Fortune by Play’n GO, Goddess of War from Endrophina, and Red Tiger’s Path of Destiny as others worth exploring.

As far as visuals go, Emperor of India looks pretty high-end. It leans heavily on its gold motif, and all the elements here have loads of details. Nevertheless, thanks to the wise use of color and the predominantly goldish palette, you can still focus on the main things you need to look at, and the abundance of details adds to a sense of grandiosity this slot aims to capture. We have seen better-designed games. For the theme, we think the presentation in this spinner is apt. Everything looks professionally done and comes off as pleasing to the eye. The animations are also pretty smooth here. They do not take you out of the gameplay. And the soundtrack is one distinctly created to work with the motif used, which it does perfectly. It is a tad too cliché, and we wished Red Tiger’s team would have gone with something more unique and mysterious to go with the impressive underground temple setting.

All the buttons in this Red Tiger creation are in the usual spots, with the spin and turbo spin in the bottom right corner and the bet selector and auto-spin one sitting in the lower left. You can select a loss limit (required) and a stop-on-win order for your automated sessions.

Specs & Gameplay

Now, it is time to get into the specifications of Emperor of India, which is a high variance cascading title with a default layout of six reels and three rows with a maximum of 45,656 paylines (on the 6×6 grid). The starting number is 243 as the base setup is 6×3, which expands by one row after each win.

We should highlight that this game comes in four RTP variations. These are 90.73%, 92.75%, 94.66%, and the most common – 95.72%. The max win here is x20,000, and the bet sizes should move from $0.20 on the lowest end to $80 as the top wager you can make in this Red Tiger reel spinner. That said, the demo version we played and some sites claim the default betting range in Emperor of India is $0.20 to $4.

You snag wins by hitting three to six identical tokens from two groups. As mentioned, this is a spinner implementing the cascading engine, so winning symbols disappear, allowing space for new ones to drop in their place. The token group gets comprised of your standard low-pay royals, which produce wins of x0.25 or x0.3 for six-of-a-kind combinations. The premiums are a medallion, a lotus, a golden teapot, a tiger, an elephant, and a blue gem. They generate prizes from x0.35 to x12.5 for six matching tokens from this group that materialize on the grid in the same round. Winning combos must get formed on adjacent reels, counted from the left-most one, and you get a default wild and different ones throughout the gameplay, but more on that in the following sub-heading.

Bonus Features

There is a four-stage progress bar that unlocks various features. Each one of these gives new perks. When the gem lands, it fills the progress bar. Each stage asks that you fill it with one hundred tokens, and upon completing a stage, new symbol types and features enhance the reels. The first gives you emperor wilds, which is a regular stacked one. The second stage brings the high emperor wild with multiplier values up to x10, and the third gives you the great one that will stay up to six chain reactions. The four-stage activates all six rows, with the possibility of your triggering the free spins bonus. It introduces scatters, and getting four gets you ten complimentary reel rotations. Landing four in this mode awards an additional ten on-the-house gaming rounds.

GOSU Verdict

We do not hate the Emperor of India. Yet, like most things Red Tiger comes up with, it failed to impress us, making us crave more. Still, we would label this as a sophisticated slot with decent gameplay and a good presentation. Sadly, it does not do anything creative to make us want to play it over and over again. So, while this is a super competent reel-spinning choice, it is not one that captured us. You may like it, so test and rate it using your preferences.
