Fat Rabbit is only the second slot we have looked at from London-based developer Push Gaming. The first one was Jammin’ Jars, and since we enjoyed it, we decided to give this one a go as well. Released in March of 2018, Fat Rabbit’s popularity has been full of peaks and valleys over its three-year existence. Immediately following its release, it rose to rank among the 300 most-played slots in iGaming. Yet, by the end of that year, its player numbers dropped off tremendously. In August of 2019, it made a comeback but has faced a bumpy road ever since. We still decided that it was worth a look.

Theme & Design

The theme of this game is, well, you guessed it, a fat rabbit. We have to give Push Gaming props for creating a character that lives up to his name. The one featured in this slot is indeed fat. We cannot say anything else regarding this game’s theme, other than it seems to be about farm life ruined by this pesky yet adorable vermin. An unlikely hero that we didn’t ask for but needed.

The reels here spin in front of a farm landscape that features an idyllic barn and a water tower. The graphics are painterly, and they look like something out of the post-2000s Cartoon Network era. The semi-transparent reel grid is in the center of your screen, encased in a wooden frame. In the top-left corner, you can see the Fat Rabbit logo. It has been carved out of wood and uses a carrot for an I. We like it.

At the bottom of your screen is the simple buttons panel. The spin and auto-spin buttons are on its right side, and the settings and mute ones are on its left. In the middle, you can find your balance and bet info. Note that the up-pointing arrow is your bet adjuster. When you press it, you get to select one of the twelve available bets that you can lay down on this title.

Specs & Gameplay

Fat Rabbit is a five-reel, five-row slot with fifty paylines. It has a default RTP of 96.45% and is a high variance game with a max exposure of x2,000 your bet. With bet sizes ranging from $0.25 to $100, the most that you can win on this farm-inspired reel-spinner is $200,000. You get awarded a win when three or more identical symbols line up on a payline left to right. If you land two winning combos on two paylines, you win the higher line prize.

The low-paying symbols in this game are four wood-carved card suits. Hitting three or more matching symbols from this group gets you a prize that is either x1.6 or x2. Diamonds and clubs pay x1.6 for five of a kind, while hearts and spades pay x2 for the same number of identical symbols. The high-paying tokens are a haystack, a water bucket, an angry dog, and the frowning farmer. Five of these will get you a win that ranges from x5 to x20 your stake.

The rabbit is the Wild. He substitutes all other symbols, and if you land five overweight mammals of the family Leporidae, you will get a reward that is x20 your wager. There is also an extra Wild, which is the carrot symbol. It substitutes all other tokens, except for the rabbit.

Bonus Features

To enter the Fat Rabbit Free Spins round, you have to land both Wilds on the same spin. When this happens, you enter the Free Spins mode, and you get five complimentary reel rotations. Inside this round, the rabbit stays on the grid as a sticky, and every time a new carrot appears, he eats it. By doing so, he fills the carrot meter to the right of the reel grid. If the rabbit eats five carrots, he will grow into a 2×2 Wild and give you three more free spins. The process can go on until our chunky white friend reaches a size of 5×5 and takes over the whole grid. When he does, the mode ends, and the word fat appears over our smiling protagonist.

Fat Rabbit also has a Harvest Feature, which randomly activates in the base game. When it does, the upset farmer will drive his tractor across the reels adding carrot Wilds. The action initiates a re-spin with the new Wilds in place.
