Street Racer is a car racing game set in Las Vegas. The action takes place in a deserted Sin City street during night-time, as you see four cars lined up to race and an attractive girl ready to signal. Famous Vegas landmarks fill its background, starting from MGM’s golden lion to Paris Las Vegas’ half-scale Eiffel Tower replica. The backdrop is a blue-tinted painting with some overlaid light animations, which add some pizzazz to the scene. If you have played any of the old Need for Speed and Gran Turismo games, you will get the feeling that this title is trying to emulate. Powerful-looking cars with unnecessary spoilers raise smoke as their tires burn from spinning on asphalt. Once you enter the Free Spins, the race begins, and all the vehicles go into hyper-drive as you chase after big wins.

We have to say that Street Racer has a bit of an arcade vibe to it. The logo design reminded us of some late-1990s and early-2000s arcade-racing machines, such as Hydro Thunder and San Francisco Rush. The characters also seem to resemble ones out of famous beat-em-up games. The soundtrack has a Japanese-style arcade midi-feel. It amps up in the bonus round. When it comes to presentation, Pragmatic does a fine job here as well. Their art department always delivers.

Street Racer utilizes the same Pragmatic Play button set-up that the provider incorporates in all of its releases. The big spin button is on the right side of your screen. Though, we think that Street Racer stands on its own as a pretty decent race-themed spinner. Yes, the max win potential here is weak, particularly for a high variance slot. We are not going to argue that. However, we liked the bonus round, and we enjoyed that this was somewhat of a switch of pace from Pragmatic, who diverged here from their standard formula. In our eyes, Street Racer will not blow you away but is above-average, so give it a try.
