We saw previews about this release a few weeks before it got its wide distribution, and we were super keen on testing it when it came out. However, other things got in the way, and we could not review it in May. Nevertheless, here we are giving this Play’n GO title a look now and telling you what we think of it while running down everything we believe you should know about it.

Head of Game Retention at Play’n GO, George Olekszy, mentioned in the press release his company put out for this title that this supplier’s management knows that slot lovers have a soft spot for games featuring nature themes and that making more is always a positive for their brand and library. Theme & Design

Despite what Play’n GO’s marketing materials say, we think that it is pretty clear that the theme here is survivalism. One of the main symbols in this interactive product is a man with camping gear on. We assume that the design team was trying to create a character in the vein of Bear Grylls, the star of Man vs. Wild, a survival show that kicked off a trend that spawned many competing series, including History Channel’s hardcore one called Alone. Our favorite from this genre was Les Stroud’s Survivorman, which is a Canadian one, airing on Discovery and the Science Channel. We found it the most legit one, airing for eight seasons and producing fifty-one episodes in total.

We tried to explore how many online slots have survival themes. Nonetheless, we struggled to find any. There are loads of adventure games. Yet, few, if any, aside from this one featuring a survival motif.

Since this is a Play’n GO release, we expected it to look relatively good. Naturally, it lived up to our expectations, which were not super high. In fact, it somewhat exceeded them with the looping background stream animations, the relatively crisp and warm graphics, and the soothing background music paired with just the right sound effects.

The action here transpires in a semi-transparent reel grid boasting a wooden frame with the game logo at the top. You get the traditional Play’n GO button setup in Wild Survivor, which means that the spin functions sit below the lower right corner of the game layout, with the bet sizes in between them and the info icon. We like the theme and the bonus round gimmick in Wild Survivor, and we think the presentation of this spinner is quite decent. We hoped that this title would be more eventful than it turned out to be, but we would still call it above average. The wild respins kept happening in our session, and that kept things going at a decent pace. Non-fans of survival shows may not find as high a level of appeal from Wild Survivor, but we thought this Play’n GO creation was slightly better than what this famous provider usually puts out.
