SixSixSix Slot Review

GOSU GAME REVIEW

Hacksaw Gaming is a slot provider we frequently talk about on BTCGOSU. In the past few months, this company has made industry news for positive and negative happenings. In May, it expanded in the Croatian online gambling market by teaming up with this country’s national lottery, and in early July, it debuted in Latvia. In April, it also entered Montenegro, Bulgaria, and Portugal. Those were the positive connotation headlines this famous supplier made. The negative ones revolved around it getting penalized in Sweden for delivering gambling content to unlicensed platforms.

Naturally, what interests us most is what kind of games this renowned provider and pioneer in the virtual scratch card genre is churning out. When we saw Hacksaw had a title that trends in the top ten in Canada, SixSixSix, we instantly got intrigued to explore more about this slot, which we have seen advertised on other sites quite a bit, and apparently, it came out on July 13th, even though we did not see it during its first release week anywhere. But looking at the stats now, it seems to have crushed it everywhere in the first two weeks following its launch, appearing in the top thirty rankings in countries like New Zealand, Norway, Finland, Ireland, Sweden, The Netherlands, Spain, and many others. Thus, we had to give it a look-see, which is what we are doing here.

Theme & Design

The theme of SixSixSix, as its name suggests, is hell. That should also be apparent in the promo images for this online slot, which shows cartoony devils flying around with pitchforks. However, the visual motif here is rubber hose animation, one of the earliest animation styles. It got its name due to the character’s arms looking like rubber hoses in motion, displaying similar physical properties. The first Felix the Cat cartoons implemented this style, and so did the Tex Avery ones. In the slotverse, Play’n GO’s Charlie Chance spinners shed light on rubber hose animation. Yet, Hacksaw Gaming had an online gambling title that implemented this look before Play’n GO unleashed their initial Charlie Chance (in Hell to Pay) product. That was Stick ‘Em, which got released in September 2019 and got a sequel two years later called Stack ‘Em.

As far as hell spinners go, at the time of writing, some of the more played ones were Fang’s Inferno Dream Drop by Relax, Devil’s Deal Soul for Sale from 7777 Gaming, and Yggdrasil’s Vikings Go to Hell.

Concerning the presentation of SixSixSix, we can say that this product nails the look it hopes to capture, and it features adequate 1930s music that not only complements the black and white visuals here but enhances them dramatically so, in our opinion. In terms of layout, SixSixSix is very reminiscent of other Hacksaw releases, like Chaos Crew. When we say this, we are referring to how elements get laid out and their proportions. The reels here get flanked by two devils in the base gameplay, and in the free spin mode, this pair moves to the left while a more dominant devil assumes the right side. We enjoyed the hole wipe animations and the ones you get between modes. They were very of the era.

The betting panel is the standard below-the-grid Hacksaw one, with the bonus buy option on the left and the spin functions on the right. You can automate ten, twenty-five, fifty, seventy-five, one hundred, five hundred, or one thousand betting rounds in your SixSixSix sessions.

Specs & Gameplay

SixSixSix implements a 5×4 setup with fourteen betways. The game has a high variance, a max win of x16,666 (most appropriate), a hit frequency of 17, a betting range that begins at $0.10 and goes up to $100 per spin, and it comes in four RTP versions. These are 88.27%, 92.17%, 94.19%, and the most common – 96.15%.

SixSixSix pays out prizes for three to five matching symbol combos on adjacent reels, counted from the leftmost one. The low-pay tokens here are crossed bones, a hatchet, a pack of smokes, a glass, and a bible. They produce wins of x3 for five identical symbols from this group appearing in view when the reels stop spinning. The high-pay ones are a small bottle with a mustache character painted on it, the Grim Reaper, a wolf, a dog, and a hand. These generate prizes from x10 to x50 for five matching symbols hitting on the same spin. There are no wilds in SixSixSix.

Bonus Features

Landing a red or blue six symbols can activate the Wicked Wheels feature. When the blue one hits, the wheel shows up in its position. It will then spin to award a prize where its arrow stops. Blue wheels can carry multipliers up to x100. The red ones display values up to x500. But the blue ones can also have a free spin trigger. So, getting the six on a wicked will give you ten on-the-house spins.  That is the Speak of the Devil Bonus, where you have a boosted chance to get more red and blue wheels. The Let Hell Break Loose feature comes into play when you hit two sixes (FS triggers) on two base gameplay wheels, and here, you get enhanced odds of earning red wheels. The What the Hell Bonus activates with three sixes in the base game, and you get ten complimentary spins here, with red wheels showing up on every free spin.

The Deal with the Devil is a gamble round available before the Let Hell Break Loose and Speak of the Devil modes activate. There, you stand a chance to get more free spins or get upgraded to a better bonus if the six hits. Every one of the mentioned modes can get purchased in SixSixSix for prices between x10 to x250 (for Let Hell Break Loose), and they all feature super slightly different RTPs and some variances in the variance models they utilize.

GOSU Verdict

Most of the time, we expect quality stuff from Hacksaw, and what we got here was a unique gaming experience with multiple bonus rounds, some novel gameplay, a cool presentation, and a hefty max win. What more can you ask for? We thought this game could have been a tad more dynamic, but we were still happy with what we got. In our eyes, it beats Play’n GO’s Charlie Chance rubber hose slots.
