Ted 2 Afterparty Slot Review
Last year, we ran a news post about FatStacks Miami Cash, a novel slot from Lucksome, which you probably have forgotten that you read or altogether missed. We mention it because we were searching our database for any mention of Lucksome, as we doubted we have ever talked about this company on our site. It appeared we have a year ago, and for those who do not know it, this is a Blueprint Gaming subsidiary launched in 2021, operating out of Malta, with offices in the United Kingdom as well. It is a studio that is a part of Blueprint’s tactic to set loose various new titles onto the gaming sphere through its RGS platform. That is a distribution network that places games at casino sites from suppliers like Merkur and Reel Time Gaming as well.
Ted 2 Afterparty is the latest title from Lucksome, making the brand’s twenty-fourth release. It popped up online on July 10th, and we got to test a version of this product before it got unleashed globally. Blueprint was planning to release this as Ted Afterparty (what we played) on June 14th. However, for whatever reason, the release got postponed and its name got changed.
According to Blueprint Gaming’s Director of Marketing & Relationships, Jo Purvis, this game has been created by popular demand. And it gives you a gaming party that should not be missed. We are sorry, Miss Purvis, but we will be the judges of that. So, let us get to judging.
Theme & Design
We have seen some gamblers and online gambling experts say that Ted has been Blueprint Gaming’s most successful franchise and that this provider has done an excellent job of exploiting their purchased license. We are unsure if we 100% agree with the first part of this statement. But we will not argue that buying the Ted license has been a quality move for Blueprint, who have made multiple well-ranked slots featuring this character, including the Ted Fruit Series, Ted Megaways, the Jackpot King addition, the Cash and Lock iteration, and, of course, the original.
For those unfamiliar with Ted, he is a jumbo teddy bear come to life in the feature film written and directed by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, who also voices him. It was his directorial debut and wound up grossing close to $550 million at the worldwide box office, making it the second highest-grossing R-rated film ever. It got a sequel three years later and a prequel TV series on Peacock.
The visuals in this game are quite interesting to us. Given that we have some experience with the AI image generator Midjourney, we must say that some of the graphics in this online slot looked like something that could have been generated in this software. That especially holds for the character symbols. The setting here is a supermarket, probably the one Ted works in, and you get an overall Okay presentation with an old-school-style TV soundtrack, Seth MacFarlane sound bites, and some classic alarm machine effects. The bonus mode has an LSD vibe and reggae music.
You can find the spin functions in Ted 2 Afterparty left of the yellow-frame grid, and right to it is the bet selector, the bonus buy button, and the four jackpot prizes you can win in your sessions.
Specs & Gameplay
The betting range in Ted 2 Afterparty starts at $0.10 and goes up to a maximum of $100 per round. The most common RTP setting you will see in this title listing is 95.04%, which is disappointing for a medium variance spinner. The default reel layout here is 5×3, expanding to 5×8 in the Cash Feature. The number of base grid paylines is fifty, and the maximum exposure in Ted 2 Afterparty should be x2,500, or a top prize of $250,000.
You snag prizes in this game by landing three to five matching symbols. There are two symbol groups. The first gets comprised of four royals, J, Q, K, and A, paying x0.5 for x1 for five-of-a-kind combinations. The premiums are a six-pack, a goose, and three character tokens, paying x1, x2, or x3 for five identical images from this group hitting on the same spin. The letter W is the Wild in this reel-spinning product, and it also cashes out rewards of x20 when it hits five times in a round.
Bonus Features
You only get two bonus features in Ted 2 Afterparty free spin and cash collection modes. You trigger the first by hitting three scatters on the middle three reels. That gets you ten gratis rounds where the royals and six-packs get removed. Teds appearing here come with values attached that pay directly. If four or more show up, you get into the second mentioned mode (cash collection), where the grid grows (5×8, but the top four rows must get unlocked via gameplay), and Teds uncover values or jackpots up to x2,500. Novel Ted tokens lock in place, giving you a new spin count of three. You collect cash Ted symbols to unlock new rows. Know that line wins are not possible in this feature, which can get bought for a price of x50. For that identical cost, you can get the free spins round also.
GOSU Verdict
For fans of the Ted franchise, this spinner may be fun. We are sure such individuals will enjoy the authentic Seth MacFarlane lines Ted 2 Afterparty delivers and maybe some of its visuals. Yet, as a standalone slot, is this game attractive? We would say – no. Its specs are not bad, its presentation is Okay, and we like the Cash Feature. Still, we thought the gameplay here could have been far more dynamic, and this title does not feel like anything special. It plays like a very unmemorable online gambling game, and if it manages to display any legs, we are 100% sure that will be due to the popularity of its main character and those who love this quick-witted fictional bear.
