Beastly Burglars Slot Review

GOSU GAME REVIEW

AvatarUX is a Malta-headquartered game studio that has not made many industry rumblings in the past year. The only super noteworthy bits of news connected to this provider we remember seeing in a year is that it formed a partnership with Slotegator for global distribution of its games, that it named a new CEO in January 2024, and that it teamed up with BetConstruct to expand its worldwide reach. Aside from these happenings, all we remember seeing are game press releases from AvatarUX. The supplier has been releasing one to two games per month, and their second August 2024 game was Beastly Burglars, which AvatarUX debuted on the 28th of that month.

While it did not pull in any impressive figures anywhere, we wanted to check it out given that we have seen this company’s titles gaining some traction of late and the fact that we love their DonKey and the Goats slot, which we hope to review one day, and introduce you to it. But here, we shall tell you all about Beastly Burglars, a surprisingly stylish product from AvatarUX, whose characters and overall look made it mandatory that we analyze it.

Theme & Design

Obviously, the theme here is animal burglars. Now, we do not know how many slots feature criminally minded creatures, but we have a pretty good idea that the online gambling realm is home to over two hundred titles with a robbery, heist, or burglary motif. Of these, Hacksaw Gaming’s Le Bandit and Cash Crew are doing exceptionally in multiple markets, and you have Realtime Gaming’s Cash Bandit series, which are spinners that are super popular with American online gamblers, and we would go out of our way to mention Midnight Marauder from Relax Gaming and Thunderkick’s Wild Heist at Peacock Manor as interesting games from this sub-genre you may want to check out.

The gaming action in Beastly Burgers, a Michaeel Man-inspired Heat-style slot romp is set in a museum that houses various Ancient Egyptian artifacts. The premium symbols here are six anthropomorphized animal criminals that look like they have stepped out of a 1980s action flick and teamed up to pull off a heist in the Museum of Ancient Artefacts. Per the promo materials from Beastly Burglars, they have joined forces to get a hold of King Tut’s treasure, and given their bold demeanor and how armed they are, nothing should stop them from achieving their goal.

The museum background image has photorealistic qualities, and the same can somewhat get said for the token graphics, which are quite unique. We love the heist-style movie soundtrack you get here, and when you enter Beastly Burglars’ free spin mode, the security lights go off in the background, giving the artifacts a red glow, and the music changes.

We like the presentation of this slot, as we found it cool, but not in your face. It was subtle enough to keep us laid back in our session but immersed, greatly enjoying the gaming fun we experienced in our Beastly Burglars session.

Specs & Gameplay

You can find this spinner listing three different RTP values. These are 86% and 94%, and the most common one is 96%.  The variance in all versions of this game will be medium, and the max exposure setting shall always be x10,000. Beastly Burglars accepts bet sizes starting at $0.10, up to a maximum of $100 per spin.

A key aspect of this AvatarUX title is that there is a changing number of winning ways, as the grid keeps morphing in both the base and bonus games. It starts off as a 1-3-5-3-1 symbol layout but can unlock its position to turn into a 5-5-5-5-5 setup. In this slot, every win triggers a respin where one random Vault gets unlocked. That activates more ways to win, up to 3,125.

You attain rewards in Beastly Burglars when three to five identical tokens hit on a win-way on adjacent reels. If there is a reel gap between symbols, you will get no prize.

The low-pay symbols of this game are 9 to A royals, producing wins of x0.8 for five-of-a-kind combinations. The premiums are the already mentioned animal tokens. These are a chimpanzee carrying a knife, a raccoon smoking a cigar, an eagle with a machine gun, an owl hacker, a suit gun-pointing fox, and a heavily armed wild boar. Five matching symbols from this batch award wins of x2 to x5 when they land on a winway.

A box of dynamite is the wild in this slot, and a sphinx head is the scatter.

Bonus Features

Each win triggers a respin, You have multiplier values above each reel. We already go into this, unlocking a random adjacent Vault. The middle reel’s multiplier unlocks after the first win on a spin along with a random Vault. The multipliers for the others unlock when all Vaults get cleared. In the free spin bonus, multipliers start at x2, and in the base game, they have gotten set at x2.

Scatters get collected between respins and get three awards and eight free spins; otherwise. If you unlock all the vaults, you get two extra spins, and all subsequent sones begin with the grid unlocked. Special multipliers may appear here, and when a prize combo occurs on the same reel, their value (up to x50) gets added to the reel multiplier above. If you want, you can use a Gamble Wheel to try to increase your free spin number to fifteen before this round begins, and like all new AvatarUX creations, there is an Xpress section here. Its options include the Gamble Wheel for x60 for a chance to get up to fifteen spins. Then, you have the following choices. For a cost of x60, you receive eight spins; for the price of x240, your stake, you get twelve; and for 500, you buy fifteen bonus round gaming opportunities.

GOSU Verdict

We expected more from Beastly Burglars, based on how we set our expectations when we first saw a video of this game getting played. But still, what we got was pretty Okay and enough to make us enjoy this spinner for a second time. It has a high top prize, a cool look, a unique sound design, and decent features. While it will for sure not turn heads, we are fairly certain that Beastly Burglars by AvatarUX will have its fans. For those few who manage to discover this unpublicized game. We may be one of these, but to ensure that this will be the case, we have to play it a few more times since it did not leave a strong enough impression on the first go for us to add it to our list of slot staples.
