Monopoly Big Baller Game Review
Evolution Gaming already has a Dream Catcher, a fortune wheel-style game with Monopoly branding. Indeed, it even manages to capture elements of the original Parker Bros game. Evolution is back for more with their second helping of Mr. Monopoly magic, but Monopoly Big Baller brings something entirely new to the table. For starters, this live dealer casino game has more in common with bingo (and other lottery-based, number-betting games) than its Wheel of Fortune-based predecessor.
Monopoly Big Baller debuted in mid-2022 and isn’t just limited to bingo-style action. Make it to the bonus round, and you can get your fill of a traditional Monopoly experience by walking around the famous board (albeit in 3D) to pocket multipliers. Let’s look at that and the many other aspects that this game can bring to the table in our Monopoly Big Baller live dealer game review.
Theme and Design
Monopoly Big Baller uses a cruise ship theme. The backdrop certainly highlights the cruise ship aspect, and if that wasn’t enough, standing on the deck is a digital Mr. Monopoly in a captain’s outfit, coupled with the host, who appears as a sailor or deckhand.
Below the live feed are a series of tickets (or cards if you prefer), and below those is your betting range, which you can use to start playing the game. The backdrop is a cruise ship, in front is a bingo machine, and standing on deck is Mr. Monopoly as a captain and your host as a sailor. Your tickets/cards are displayed below, above your betting chips, which stem from 0.10 up to 1,000.00.
Specs and Gameplay
You can use the chips which appear on the lower menu to stake your bets. At the very least, a bet on Monopoly Big Baller is going to set you back just $0.10. However, at the opposite end of this Evolution Gaming-developed live casino game’s wagering range is a maximum bet chip of $1,000.
To begin gameplay, you need to select one (up to four) of the Chance/Free Space cards on the screen and place your bet. After this, the card (which offers a 5×5 cell structure) will randomly showcase numbers stretching from one to sixty. It is worth noting that Free Space cards have a free spot in the middle of the card, which acts as a wild number. Chance cards don’t have this, but the number drawn in the middle will carry a multiplier which is applied to your winnings if the number is used.
Once the game begins, Mr. Monopoly will dab cards at random, providing you with a series of additional free spaces. Meanwhile, standard, line, and global Chance Multipliers can come into play, too. Standard multipliers boost your winnings on any line featuring the number. Line multipliers pay out if you win on that specific line, while global multipliers pay with any winning line, even if it doesn’t have a multiplier.
After all, this has been decided, the game commences, with the machine drawing twenty out of sixty possible numbers. Complete one or ideally, many more lines on a card, and you’ll land a win. The prizes you can win are always displayed on the screen in this game, which has an RTP rate of 96.1%.
Bonus Features
You can also place side-bets in this game. Wager on 3 Rolls or 5 Rolls to get started with that. A series of numbers will be chosen to represent these. If all the numbers for each bet are drawn (three for 3 Rolls and four for 5 Rolls), then you’ll enter the bonus after the main game concludes.
The bonus round sees you roll dice several times based on the bet you wagered on. It is possible to place both bets and land double the fun, too. You’ll now be taken to the board game, where each property has a multiplier attached to it. Houses and hotels can appear randomly on the board, too, bringing more goodies you land on them.
Note that if you land on Community Chest or Chance, you can pocket cash prizes or fees. Income Tax and Super Tax fees see your winnings suffer losses of 10% and 20%, respectively. However, it is possible to end up in jail, too, and you’ll need to roll a double to get out and back into the action. If you do enough to get around the board and “Pass GO”, you’ll double your winnings. Once you’re out of rolls, the bonus round ends.
GOSU Verdict
To get the full Monopoly experience here, you’re going to need to play with the side bets active, which won’t be everybody’s cup of tea. However, there is still plenty of action to be had in the main game. If you’re a fan of playing bingo for real money, then the added benefit of landing multipliers and bonuses makes Monopoly Big Baller a lot more fulfilling than playing a conventional game of online bingo.
While Monopoly Live is arguably the easier of the two games for newbies to get to grips with, we’d say that Monopoly Big Baller is the more exciting and fun to play. That’s how we feel anyway.
